When installing the security solution, the following error can be returned 'Error number: 0x80040706', preventing the installation process from completing.
This error occurs because you have an outdated version of the InstallShield installer engine; a widely-used program for installing applications under Windows.

This information applies to Windows 2000 Professional. When carrying out an on-demand scan for vulnerabilities, from Scan, Detect vulnerabilities

MS04-011 and MS05-041 in computers running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 installed.
Then, when the operating system is updated (Windows Update), a critical update pending installation is not detected.
This happens because Microsoft has not included the patches for the MS04-011 and MS05-041 vulnerabilities in Windows Update.
In order to resolve this conflict, access the corresponding Microsoft security bulletins from the link for the vulnerability you need to fix,
download the update and then install it.

In some cases, when installing the Tesco Antivirus & Antispyware, after running install.exe or setup.exe, the InstallShield installation program is
interrupted, preventing the installation process from continuing.
When running the wizard, InstallShield shows the language selection wizard and then a window with the installation progress bar.
However, this window immediately disappears and the installation process ends unexpectedly, without showing any error messages or warnings.
This situation only arises in computers with version 11.50 of InstallShield installed. This version is used by the Google Earth (Release 4 - BETA) software, among others.

20. Since I installed Tesco Antivirus & Antispyware , I have problems shutting down the computer. How can I resolve it?
The TruPrevent ™ Technologies implemented in Tesco Antivirus & Antispyware, which detect unknown threats, can prevent the computer from shutting down correctly.
These technologies prevent the MS Excel processes from closing correctly. What's more, the active processes are not visible in the list of
operating system processes and therefore, they cannot be ended manually. As a result, when shutting down the computer, it stops at the shutting down operating
system screen or shows the desktop in the background.
In order to resolve this incident, we have developed the hotfix hft50606s5.exe.
Steps for applying the hotfix
- Download hotfix hft50606s5.exe, by clicking here
- Save the file to your hard disk; to the Windows Desktop, for example.
- Run the downloaded file. To do this, double-click on the hft50606s5.exe file in order to apply the hotfix.
